Q: Is there a big disadvantage to importing Japanese cars to the UK to make up for the lower cost?
Well, I've been thinking about buying a Japanese sports car, but in searching online for different ones I keep on getting links to websites that specialise in importing (2nd hand) Japanese cars to the UK. In some cases, the cost is around 30-40% cheaper than an equivalent car in Britain.
Also, the Japanese seem to take better car of their cars in general as the condition of the vehicle has a bigger impact on the resale value in Japan.
So what is the disadvantage?
I'm thinking about getting a Nissan 350z (Fairlady in Japan).
A: Make sure that the car will be able to pass any pollution tests you may have in the UK. Or see if you can get an exemption.
Research any taxes, tariffs or extra unseen fees associated with registering the car there.
Research the company you are thinking of doing business with.
Find out the differences between the UK models and those for registration in Japan. Can you read the owner's manual, etc.
If it is a UK firm doing it, why don't they just import the cars and make the profit themselves?
If it is a Japanese firm, how can you safeguard yourself should any litigation arise from the transaction?
Just a few thoughts, hope they help.
Q: Why do more people invest in Japanese cars instead of german?
Me personally I only like german cars, but I've noticed all my friends and a lot of other poeple when they want to buy a fast car or a car to buy and fix up themselves most people buy Japanese. Weather its Honda suburau, acura, mittsubishi. Then they fix those cars up to go fast. I don't get why more poeple don't do that with german cars?!?! They have some of the fastest cars there are. Anyone know?
A: Less expensive.
theres always Volkswagen,
but they're s*** and they arent made in germany any more.
Q: What is the difference between American and Japanese cars?
What makes their performance and quality so different? Why are Japanese cars considered more reliable?
A: I think the issue another issue (performance). This isnt my personal opinion, but one i often come across in talks and on the net is.
In most countries Petrol is so expensive and insurance and taxes all go against having a large engined car.
The Japanese engines is the power they can produce at a low cc.You often get my Muscle car can beat your Import well yes it prob can,as its usually about 3 of the import engines, but if the import engine was muscle car big it would be super fast.So this leads to the Japanese engine producing alot of power for its size and being tuneable and hence cheaper on petrol, insurance and taxes. And making it popular.
Q: Why are japanese cars losing quality control?
Not to long ago Toyota cars had a huge recall of cars and now Honda is having a huge recall.
Why are these giant japanese car manufacturers having issues after so many years of good quality?
Why are they experiencing more defects now all of the sudden?
A: They're not really. It's mainly a problem with perception. Because of the media exposure from the Toyota gas pedal recalls ALL Toyota and Honda recalls are being widely aired. Recalls happen all the time with all manufacturers. Some GM SUVs have so many technical service bulletins it would take you the better part of a half-hour just to read the list of titles of them.
Q: what makes japanese cars stand out against the others?
what are the differences between the japanese cars and the european, american, chinese and Korean cars? what are the strengths and weaknesses of the japanese cars?
A: Japanese brand autos have been well-documented for their quality and reliability. Those are some of the strength, strength which propelled makers such as Toyota and Honda claiming a good stake in the US market, specifically.
That said, the recent quality issues have stirred a brewing of discussions, especially within the automotive community. Keying around similar questions such as are the Japanese becoming too large too fast? And to be fair, on the other side of the coin, the rest of the league, Hyundai/Kia and GM, especially, are really picking up the pace. Perceptions are hard to change overnight, however, and unfortunate.
Q: Why are japanese cars generally more reliable than american cars?
some of the parts in these "american cars" come from japan...sooo why is japanese usually more reliable??? is it engine or something?
A: Depends on a lot of things not the least of which is care.
My 2000 Taurus has 169K miles on it and is still pretty reliable.
That being said there are a number of Japanese cars built in America and the reliability hasn't dipped. So much for the Japanese worker excuse.
I think it's better engineering overall.
Q: Have you noticed that engines in Japanese cars typically sound louder than those in American cars?
For the most part, Japanese cars are better known for their reliability over American cars, however, has anyone noticed that the Japanese car engines typically sound louder than ones in American cars, either at idle or acceleration?
A: I agree with the last answer about the revs, but have you ever even heard a chevy small block v-8. No Japanese motor grunts as hard as any American V-8. And as far as the reliability thing, that is a myth. I want you to pay attention from now on when you're driving and look for older cars. Try to count all vehicles that are about 15 years or older, and i guarantee you will see Chevy trucks and Chrysler minivans 3 to 1 over Honda Accords and Toyota Camrys.
Q: I'm thinking of starting a business exporting Japanese used cars?
I live in Japan right now and I'm thinking of a new business selling and exporting Japanese cars to US, Canada and other country's in the near future.(making my own company of car export) Before I get started, I need to find some buyers. Anyone have any clue how to find buyers?
Also is it still possible to export cars and have profit? My friend said that exporting Japanese car is over because there is too many exporters in Japan.
A: All japanese models are available here, not sure if it ll be a profitable one and exporting Cars needs a HUGE capital.when you deal with HUGE money, see you have some experience. Atleast travel around and see whats going on.
Q: What Is The Resale Value Of Japanese Cars Imported To Australia or Canada?
It should be great if you can give specific resale prices or margins for popular Japanese cars.
A: It depends on the specific cars you want to import & resell. For example, these are the resale prices of cars imported from Japan to Australia:
2003 Mitsubishi EVO VIII GSR ~~ $36,900
2003 Nissan Skyline V35 350GT ~~ $29,000
1999 Subaru WRX Race Car ~~ $16,500
1995 Nissan Skyline R33 GTR ~~ $63,500 (Hardcore - Show or Drag)
1999 Nissan Skyline R34 GTR ~~ $61,200 (Highly modified V Spec)
Most of these are quite popular among used car buyers, but the primary interest is with the Australian / Canadian base of performance car enthusiasts. That's where the real meat of this industry is.
Q: are germany and japanese cars are really good and americas top opponents because ww2?
if you look around you most foreign cars are german and japanese. americans buy these foreign cars more than british swedish and korean is this a result of ww2 or ha ha a different version a economic version of germany and japan trying to take over the world again.
A: its quality control really, American cars are good. GM got car of the year last year but the CEO was booted by Obama, its sad but there is a stigma against American car companies, the past 15 years the equality in quality has been equal
Q: What car do you prefer, Japanese Cars or american car??? tuner vs. muscle?
I love Japanese cars!!! i think there better because they handle better, more affortable yet still fast! they have badass cars that you can customize to make it even cooler!
and as well for europian cars, there pretty cool too!!!
A: First of all I would like to say that I like both types of cars but if i had to pick it would definitely have to be Japanese Imports because they are gorgeous looking cars and i know that some american cars look good to but they are aggressive looking and shout about the power beneath the hood whereas Japanese cars are not as aggressive and they are nice looking cars but without the aggression screaming about the power that is beneath the hood.
Japanese cars are also better because they can take corners properly whereas american cars are good in a straight line but try to take a corner in one and your dead !!
Also japanese cars are a lot more easily tuned and they look awesome when they are fully kitted out with a drift body kit and around 600bhp.
Q: Japanese Car Importers In Australia - How To Contact Experienced Importers Of Japanese Cars?
Please let me know the websites of professional Japanese car importers in Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney. Thanks.
A: The best contact I know is a fellow Australian by the name of Samual Kemp. He's a recognized expert on Japanese cars (being a Japanese car importer himself) and works in the automotive freight industry as his day job.
He's got years of experience importing Skyline GT-Rs to Australia & also runs a membership site -- http://starturl.com/JapaneseCarImport -- with a massive worldwide following.
Top of what he offers includes a grading system for auction cars, authenticity of buyer/seller data and inside info on how to save up to 30% on retail price while making the import process as easy as possible. You also get instant access to ongoing auctions (Ebay, Yahoo and more) and private seller contacts from Japanese car lots.
If a car recommendation is what you need, I suggest a Toyota Supra, Nissan Skyline GTR or Mazda FX7 / FX8. These are the best Japanese cars for custom modification and enhancements through performance kits.
Q: Are Japanese cars really better than American cars or is it all a myth?
For a long time now I've heard people say only buy Japanese and that US cars are crap, but is it true? Recently I hear people saying that American cars have improved a lot.
A: They have improved but after a huge downfall. Japenese craftsmanship is like no other. And the cars look good and are efficient. I think that was straight forward enough.
