2011 toyota rav4 questions and answers
Looking for more information about the 2011 toyota rav4. Check out your automotive resource GoodCarBadCar.net.
Q: Are 2011 toyota rav4 2.5l four cylinder all wheel or on demand 4 wheel drive cars?
A: I searched all over and couldn't find a straight answer for you. Here's what I think based on the information I saw. You should go and visit a dealer to verify.
The 4 cylinder comes either as 2wd or 4wd. The 4wd system is full-time, meaning you can't turn it off. However it appears that it only powers the front wheels until a slip is detected, at which point the limited slip differential sends power to the rear axle. This is to conserve fuel.
Some pictures I saw showed a suspicious looking button on the dash, I believe you can 'lock' the differential to provide more consistent split front and rear for low speeds and very slippery conditions.
I hope this helps!
Q: 2011 Toyota Rav-4 vs. 2011 Honda Cr-V EX?
I'm looking to buy my first car and want to get a mid size SUV. After looking around at Toyota, Honda, Nissan, VW and Ford I narrowed down my search to the RAV4 and Cr-V. I came to these two options based on price, fuel economy, space, and maintenance. To be specific my choice is between the 2011 RAV-4 Sport and the EX Cr-V. I am leaning toward a RAV4 because I like its looks a lot better than the Cr-v.
------------I was hoping that someone more knowledgeable could tell me the pros and cons of each vehicle.--------
Here's the comparison:
2011 Toyota RAV4 Sport Edition
2.5L 4-Cylinder
4 Speed Automatic
4X4
Appearance Package
Black Exterior
Dark Charcoal Interior
VS.
2011 Honda Cr-V EX
2.4L 4-Cylinder
4wd Automatic

Any and all help will GREATLY be appreciated!!!!!!
Thanks in advance!

Q: Should I keep my 2010 rav4 or trade it in for 2011 Mustang?
I have a base 2010 Rav 4 which I purchased for about 23k with taxes in January, 2010.
Im interested in getting the base 2011 V6 mustang (automatic). I want to trade my rav4 for the mustang. The rav4 has 5,500 miles on it and is 4 wheel drive. I went to the ford dealership yesterday and they were asking 4k after the trade in. Do you think it's worth the extra 4k? How much extra should I pay for the mustang? A 2011 base automatic mustang has an invoice price of 22,794 plus taxes (from kbb) and my rav 4 is worth 20,700 with 5,500 as a vehicle trade in (from kbb).
I live in the Chicago area where winters are pretty crazy. Does the mustang survive harsh winters?
The Toyota Rav4 has been fully paid off. What's your opinion on how much I should be paying for the mustang if I do trade in the rav4?
Appreciate your input!
A: Keep your Rav4 and buy the Mustang for summer use its not a winter car.
Q: What is the better car?
I'm 15, looking for a car. I've been saving for a really long time. And my parents will help me as long as I get a job. I am looking for safety, economy, and looks aren't everything, but I don't want to drive an ugly car. That sounds kinda snobby:(
Anyways I'm trying to decide between about 6 cars/SUVs. I have done so much research and comparisons, but they are all equal pretty much.
-2011 Honda Civic Coupe
-2011 Honda Accord
-2005 Toyota Rav4
-2011 Honda Cr-V
-2011 Nissan Sentra
Which is safer and easier to maneuver for a young driver? Also, what are the differences in SUVs and cars, safety wise? Thanks!:)
A: Where do you live, do you get snow? If so, I would get the Rav4 if it has 4 wheel drive. Otherwise, any of the Honda's are great choices. I would go with the Civic myself.
Q: Should I buy a car or SUV if I am planning on having a baby?
My husband and I are car shopping for me....
But I cannot decide between a car or an SUV...
We will be planning for our first baby, we are hoping to get pregnant within the next year....
Any suggestions on which would be better?
We are looking at the 2011 Ford Fiesta sedan....and also the Subaru Forrester, and Toyota Rav4.
A: Whatever car is the safest for you, maybe a subaru Foster? But maybe its too big?
Toyota Rav4 is good. Congratulations on your future baby.
Q: Any opinions on the 2011 Jeep Patriot?
I have been looking for a utilitarian vehicle for a while now and hadn't even considered the Jeep Patriot until now. I sat in one and it felt great. I didn't drive it because I didn't feel like getting involved with the salesman quite yet. Any input on reliability of past Patriot models would be helpful. It seems like companies that review the Patriot just give it an "OK" rating and say there are better options, but the people who review it seem to love it. How does the Patriot stack up against the Toyota Rav4 or the Honda Element? I guess I'm just questioning Jeeps reliability these days. Thanks!
Where are you finding these Jeep Patriots for under 15k???
Where are you finding these Jeep Patriots for under 15k??? In my neck of the woods they are priced way more than that.
A: I think it depends greatly on your needs. I currently own a 2008 Rav4 AWD with the V6 engine. For what it, it is a great car. The V6 is very quick on take off, the ride is great (though the road noise makes the built in blu-tooth phone connection unusable even on the freeway) and it performed admirably in the snow. The gas mileage is in the low 20s (around 22/23 on long freeway trips).
That being said, my wife now drives that and I am looking at a 2010 or 2011 patriot to fit my needs. We can not tow the Rav behind a motorhome and we need this. I test drove a liberty (which can be towed 4 on the ground with 4 wheel drive/Auto) and it was nice, but for the money, not nearly as nice as my Rav-4. Since I have to move to a 2 wheel drive and standard transmission on just about any other SUV, I cant find a better solution than the patriot.
I already have quotes for a '10 at $9899 and an '11 around $14,000. These still include power options, CD w/MP3 player and AC - the necessities.
You wont find a Rav-4 for that kind of money. If you have $25K budgeted for the car, I would get the Rav-4. It has ample room for our 3 BIG dogs to sit in the back on the way to the beach and the V-6 was great. In fact, the road noise is my only real complaint on the Rav at the moment (ignoring the towability factor that most people wouldnt worry about).
Hope that helps a bit. Everyone's needs vary so much.
Something else occurred to me after I posted and read the other answer. I am in sales so I will likely mile the heck out of a car. While the resale value on a Patriot will not hold up like a Rav-4, I would much rather mile the crap out of a $10K car than a $25K car. Resale is one of the reasons I am looking at the Patriot. True, it wont retain value as well, but when the purchase price starts as low as this car does... Well, it will be worth SOMETHING when I go to sell it, which means my depreciation is certainly limited by the low acquisition costs.

A: The 2011 will indeed handle the weather. The Ford Mustang is exceedingly popular in Canada considering their short summers. The 2011 5.0L engine has some incredible horsepower to weight numbers. Its also faster than both the Camaro SS and heavy Dodge Challenger. The new Mustang is a great taste of domestic American Muscle IMO. The new 2011 V6 is no slouch either and produces over 300 horsepower and 30mpg!
I read an incredible overview of the 2011 Ford Mustang Here:
http://www.cruizinconceptswholesale.com/2011-ford-mustang.asp
6 Speed Trans, Fastest in domestic class and very agile upgraded suspension are just a few of the perks at its price point. Not to mention with the right exhaust these cars can sound pretty incredible with the V8 engine.

A: Keep your Toyota, if you want a mustang at least get one with a V8. They have better resale value than a V6 one. If you are worried about getting around in the winter time, definetly keep your Toyota. A mustang is a car, so like a typical car it has trouble if the snow gets too deep or if it is too slippery even with traction control. The mustang would survive a harsh winter, though with the subzero temperatures cold and wind. You just wouldn't be able to drive it until the streets have been cleared of snow.

A: Cars are easier to drive usually than SUVs, and at the same time SUVs are usually safer than cars. Both of these are not true 100% of the time though. If I had to pick one for myself I would go with the Honda Civic Coupe, kind of a fun little car.
All of these cars/SUVs are in a similar class and will give you a pretty similar quality. So with that, o by what you like best. You've done enough researching to narrow it down to this and I assume you're asking here because you're stuck. Comparing more numbers and statistics won't make much of a difference anymore. You should go by price, feel (test drive), and overall appeal. Just what you like best.
