Q: 2011 6 SERIES BMW finally I am able to afford one?
Does anybody know if the 2011 model will be modified in any way??? thinking of buying a 2010???

A: Buy the older model. New cars, especially luxury, lose value at a fast rate, usually faster than you can pay it off. This will leave you upside down. Try to find an '06-'08 M6. The M6 will hold it's value and you can have the best model at a cheaper price with very low miles. The real question is would you rather pay $47k-55k for an '06-'07 M6 with only 20K miles, or pay the over $100k for a brand new M6?

Q: BMW 550i vs M6, help me decide?
Here is what I know so far about the pros of each: The 550i (x drive) is about $20-30k cheaper, has better technology/gadgets/driver assistance/cameras etc, would do better in snow The M6 is more powerful, looks nicer I'm not sure if the 550i has a manual transmission but if it doesn't that would be a point to the M6. The M6 also seems like it's due to be replaced soon by new 2011 6 series.

A: I had the same debate and just went with a 550xi. Should be in next week! Here's how I decided: Benefits of the 550xi + AWD + engine is almost as good if not better than the M6 for most people (see discussion below) + new model should hold resale value longer (no risk of a new model trumping it anytime soon) + storage room of a sedan + way better gas mileage + you can still get the M sport package (styling, handling, etc., everything on the M5 except the engine) on the 550 for a couple of grand - I went with this package Benefits of the M6 + awesome styling / 2 door vs. sedan feel / look + ability to get a convertible if you want it (although I think the coupe looks better) + v10 engine is unique On the engine front, my understanding is that the M6/M5 engine is not by default in monster mode (kicking out the 500/550 horsepower). For everyday driving, the default mode is active and that generates 400 HP or something. In order to get all horses running you need to change settings - not a big deal, but probably not something you'll always do when you decide at the last second to blow the doors off the guy next to you. For the extra money, lower gas mileage, and higher insurance, I just couldn't find a good report to suggest the slight increase in performance of the M over the new 550 engine was worth it. This might not have been true in the past when the M engine might have been quite a bump from the 545 engine, but I think this new 400hp dual-turbo is a pretty sweet powerhouse. I've also seen reports where the only advantage the M engine would have would be in an all-out race when you get above 70mph. So, yes, the M6 in full power mode would beat the 550 in the last part of a quarter mile. If that's what you are looking for, then the M6 is the way to go. For most people, the M engine doesn't offer a huge advantage in terms of performance for everyday stoplight launches (this is my understanding from reading other people's reports, not from first hand experience). True, the V10 will give you a sh!t-eating grin when you stomp on it, but I'm guessing the 550's 450 torque might just do that as well. Read up on the manual transmission for the M engine before getting it - when I looked a year or two ago it sounded like people weren't happy about it (I had decided I didn't want to be forced to bother with a stick, a coffee, and a mobile phone so I skipped it, but preliminary reading told me it might not be a good move anyway). I added the paddles to the 550xi to give me the link to performance when desired, but without the need to deal with it in traffic. For me, it came down to waiting for the new M6 (or the new 650i with the newer engine) or getting the 550xi now. I just couldn't make sense of getting a M6 right now and I went with the added convenience / AWD, lower price, and ability to get it now. But man, that M6 is a sweet looking car!!! Best of luck. Either way I'm sure you'll love that choice. Apologies to all if I butchered the data there - just what I remember from reading dozens of random reviews / assessments when I went through the same decision.

Q: Mercedes Benz E350 coupe?
I'm looking into getting this. I was interested in the BMW 6 series but it is doggone ugly starting with its new 2011 line. I like the Audi A5 but it doesn't have that oomph factor to it. Any other good choices in this class of cars? Reliable and swell?

A: The new generation is ugly yes.The 6 serious is just too big and american to me.I think, than an Audi S5 looks even better than the simple one.A Merc is also great, and,if you want, that is,i strongly recommend a BMW 335i or even the M3 Coupe.Other choices?Well,an Infiniti G37 is dynamic and sold in europe,an Alfa Romeo Brera awesome to look at,not so amusing to drive and if you can buy one,try a Porsche 911 or even a Nissan GT-R.I doubt this is your budget though.
